Scott Black in North Las Vegas

Meet Scott

A proven local leader.

Scott Black’s story is a North Las Vegas story. He grew up here — Lincoln Elementary, Jim Bridger Junior High, Rancho High School, where his classmates elected him senior class president. This city gave Scott his start, and he has spent his career giving back.

Elected to the City Council in 2017 and re-elected in 2022, Scott was chosen by his colleagues to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. He took office when North Las Vegas was dealing with hard times — and he helped lead the turnaround: stronger public safety, improved neighborhoods, and billions in outside investment.

Now Scott is running for Mayor to finish the job. Not for a party. Not for a political career. For every family building a future here.

“When I was first elected, North Las Vegas was really struggling. Now, we’re thriving — with stronger public safety, improved neighborhoods, billions in economic investment, and great hope for the future. With your vote, we will see it through in the next four years.”
Scott Black

The Record

Results you can see out your front door.

Anyone can make promises in an election year. Scott Black’s record was built over nine years of showing up — it’s why the people who know City Hall best are behind him, including the Mayor, all council members, and the city employees organization.

Public Safety

Safer streets, faster response

Scott led the charge to keep $40 million in our community that was at risk of going elsewhere — money that hired more than 100 new police officers, built new police and fire stations, cut ambulance response times, and put life-saving equipment on the streets. Our first responders trust him and that’s why he’s the only candidate endorsed by North Las Vegas Police and Firefighters.

Jobs & Economy

An economy that delivers

Scott championed the infrastructure and partnerships that turned Apex into one of the largest job engines in America — bringing Fortune 500 employers, tens of thousands of jobs, and billions in outside investment to North Las Vegas, all without disrupting our existing neighborhoods.

Billions in new investment at Apex
Neighborhoods

Neighborhoods on the rise

Block by block, Scott has pushed to revitalize North Las Vegas — new parks and amenities, cleaner streets and strict code enforcement. Growth should serve residents, never squeeze them out — and the new Civic Center and Hylo Park projects are bringing that promise to our city.

Revitalization, one block at a time

The Plan

Ready on day one. Here’s where Scott stands.

Scott Black is the only candidate for Mayor endorsed by North Las Vegas Police and Firefighters. Public safety is the foundation of a great city — and as Mayor, Scott will do even more:

  • Keep hiring more police officers, firefighters, and paramedics
  • Cut emergency response times in every ward
  • Invest in technology and life-saving equipment for first responders

Scott hears it every day on the doorstep: prices are up, and everyone is feeling it. As Mayor, Scott will keep North Las Vegas the most affordable place in the valley to live, raise a family, grow a business, or retire with dignity:

  • Hold the line on the costs City Hall controls, primarily utilities and fees
  • Expand affordability in housing without affecting existing homeowners
  • Protect seniors on fixed incomes

The Apex Industrial Park is one of the largest in the country. Scott championed the billions in economic development that’s bringing tens of thousands of GREAT jobs to our city, all without impacting neighborhoods. As Mayor, he’ll keep building:

  • Finish the infrastructure that unlocks Apex’s full potential
  • Attract new industries and diversify our economy
  • Create higher-paying careers so North Las Vegas families can build a future they can afford, right here

From established communities to new developments, every neighborhood in North Las Vegas deserves investment and attention:

  • Cleaner streets and strict code enforcement
  • Great parks, libraries, and amenities in every part of the city
  • Smart growth so new projects don’t burden existing neighborhoods

Our city is growing fast — and our roads need to keep up. As Mayor, Scott will:

  • Push to complete road projects faster and cut congestion
  • Fix the dangerous intersections that cost lives every year
  • Push for common sense e-bike and e-scooter regulations that will save lives

North Las Vegas is evolving — and Scott played a central role in bringing new amenities to town:

  • Hylo Park, with new shopping, housing, and recreation opportunities
  • A reimagined downtown, with a new Nevada State University campus, will give NLV a thriving urban core
  • The NLV One Civic Center project will redevelop the old city hall site into a mixed-use development with new housing and office space for new small businesses

We’re on the way to having the best of everything, right here.

The Choice on Your Ballot

Our city. Not a political party.

Scott Black: a full-time mayor for North Las Vegas

  • Born and raised in North Las Vegas
  • Nine years on your City Council and chosen by colleagues as Mayor Pro Tem
  • Endorsed by the police officers and firefighters who protect our city — and by our current Mayor and council
  • One job, one loyalty: the people of North Las Vegas

His opponent: literally a political Party Boss

  • Scott’s opponent holds one of the most partisan jobs in Nevada as political party Chair
  • Mayor of North Las Vegas is a nonpartisan office, meant to serve EVERY resident. City Hall should answer to neighbors — not hyper-partisan political agendas.

This isn’t about left or right. It’s about who wakes up every morning with the experience North Las Vegas needs, not outside influences.
